About SafeTide Recovery

Heal at your own pace, with compassion.

SafeTide Recovery is a virtual trauma and addiction recovery coaching practice for people healing from addiction, trauma, emotional pain, and nervous system overwhelm.

We honor that addiction is often a survival response to pain, disconnection, and unmet needs. Our approach centers safety, consent, and gentle pacing—helping you build capacity to stay present, understand cravings as information, and reconnect with yourself.

What happens after you reach out.

Share your name, preferred contact information, and a little about the kind of support you are looking for. Please do not include detailed medical records or crisis information.

02

We review fit and safety

We look at whether SafeTide coaching may match your needs. If you need crisis, detox, medical, therapy, or treatment support, we will encourage you toward a more appropriate resource.

Is SafeTide the right fit?

Clear support, clear limits.

Recovery coaching can sit alongside therapy, treatment, meetings, medical care, peer support, and other recovery resources. It is not a replacement for emergency, clinical, or licensed care.

SafeTide may be a good fit if you are:

  • Looking for nonjudgmental recovery support
  • Trying to understand cravings, shame, trauma responses, or emotional overwhelm
  • Wanting tools for grounding, boundaries, reflection, and self-trust
  • Looking for support alongside therapy, treatment, meetings, or other recovery care

SafeTide is not the right fit for:

  • Medical detox, withdrawal care, or emergency response
  • Diagnosis, therapy, medication management, or clinical treatment
  • Court-ordered treatment or clinical documentation unless specifically agreed in writing
  • Situations needing a licensed mental health, medical, legal, or crisis provider

What sessions look like

Practical support at a human pace.

Most sessions are virtual and focused on reflection, grounding, recovery tools, and next steps. You do not have to share everything at once. We move at your pace.

Format

Sessions are currently virtual. Video or phone options may be discussed during consultation based on fit, privacy, and access needs.

Length & cadence

The free consultation is a first check-in. Ongoing session length and frequency are confirmed before coaching begins and can be adjusted as needs change.

Between sessions

SafeTide is not crisis or on-call support. Any between-session communication expectations are discussed clearly before ongoing coaching begins.

Pay what you can

Contributions are discussed without shame. If you cannot pay, that is okay too. We will be transparent about what SafeTide can sustainably offer.

Our principles

Coaching support with dignity at its center.

01

Compassion over shameWhat you survived does not make you broken. Understanding opens more doors than judgment ever could.

02

Choice over controlYour voice, consent, and pace matter. Coaching should strengthen your agency—not take it away.

03

Connection over isolationHealing becomes more possible when you feel seen, supported, and less alone in what you carry.

A moment for today

Today’s steady thought

You are allowed to meet yourself with patience today.

Mel brings warmth, creativity, emotional insight, and a nurturing spirit to SafeTide. She is currently taking over the business while Elijah, SafeTide’s founder, continues to focus on his own healing journey. Her work is shaped by lived experience and the belief that healing should feel safe, gentle, and human.

Read Mel’s story +

After walking through her own journey with trauma, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder, Mel understands how painful it can be to feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.

She is passionate about resources that help people slow down, listen to their nervous system, rebuild self-trust, and feel less alone. Her background in psychology supports a compassionate, developmentally informed perspective.

She cares deeply about working with children and understanding the emotional experiences that shape people from an early age. Her hope is that SafeTide reminds people they are allowed to heal gently.

Training & scope

Mel is not a licensed therapist or medical provider. Her coaching support is grounded in lived experience, a psychology background, trauma-informed education, emotional learning tools, and recovery support. Any additional certifications or training will be listed as they are completed.

Care should be within reach

Pay what you can. If you can’t, that’s okay too.

SafeTide believes everyone deserves care and support. We want to provide the best coaching possible without shame around what you can afford.
