Virtual coaching · Gentle pacing · Real connection

Virtual support. A calm first conversation. No pressure.
About SafeTide Recovery
SafeTide Recovery is a virtual trauma and addiction recovery coaching practice for people healing from addiction, trauma, emotional pain, and nervous system overwhelm.
We honor that addiction is often a survival response to pain, disconnection, and unmet needs. Our approach centers safety, consent, and gentle pacing—helping you build capacity to stay present, understand cravings as information, and reconnect with yourself.
What guides us ↘Is SafeTide the right fit?
Recovery coaching can sit alongside therapy, treatment, meetings, medical care, peer support, and other recovery resources. It is not a replacement for emergency, clinical, or licensed care.
Programs that meet you where you are
A welcoming space with clear boundaries, warmth, and choice. We move at a pace that supports your sense of safety and capacity.
Understand cravings and behaviors with curiosity instead of shame while building practical tools for regulation, boundaries, and self-trust.
Age-aware reflection and regulation resources created to make emotional learning more accessible for children, teens, and adults.
What you’ll learn
Free resource library

Child and teen resources are educational tools for reflection and emotional learning. They are not a substitute for therapy, crisis care, medical care, or caregiver supervision. Coaching for minors, if available, requires parent or legal guardian involvement and consent.

What sessions look like
Most sessions are virtual and focused on reflection, grounding, recovery tools, and next steps. You do not have to share everything at once. We move at your pace.
Sessions are currently virtual. Video or phone options may be discussed during consultation based on fit, privacy, and access needs.
The free consultation is a first check-in. Ongoing session length and frequency are confirmed before coaching begins and can be adjusted as needs change.
SafeTide is not crisis or on-call support. Any between-session communication expectations are discussed clearly before ongoing coaching begins.
Contributions are discussed without shame. If you cannot pay, that is okay too. We will be transparent about what SafeTide can sustainably offer.
Our principles
Compassion over shameWhat you survived does not make you broken. Understanding opens more doors than judgment ever could.
Choice over controlYour voice, consent, and pace matter. Coaching should strengthen your agency—not take it away.
Connection over isolationHealing becomes more possible when you feel seen, supported, and less alone in what you carry.
A moment for today
You are allowed to meet yourself with patience today.

Addiction & Trauma Recovery Coach · Background in Psychology
Mel brings warmth, creativity, emotional insight, and a nurturing spirit to SafeTide. She is currently taking over the business while Elijah, SafeTide’s founder, continues to focus on his own healing journey. Her work is shaped by lived experience and the belief that healing should feel safe, gentle, and human.
After walking through her own journey with trauma, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder, Mel understands how painful it can be to feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.
She is passionate about resources that help people slow down, listen to their nervous system, rebuild self-trust, and feel less alone. Her background in psychology supports a compassionate, developmentally informed perspective.
She cares deeply about working with children and understanding the emotional experiences that shape people from an early age. Her hope is that SafeTide reminds people they are allowed to heal gently.
Mel is not a licensed therapist or medical provider. Her coaching support is grounded in lived experience, a psychology background, trauma-informed education, emotional learning tools, and recovery support. Any additional certifications or training will be listed as they are completed.
